Young Adult Ministry
Thursday May 06, 2021
Thursday May 06, 2021
The Salvation Army in Waldorf, Maryland moved into a new building in November of 2019 and started forming new relationships in the community.
The young adult ministry started with simple word of mouth evangelism between the Salvation Army officer, and a committed youth leader who is a strong, God-centered, charismatic individual. The ministry has grown since then and now every Wednesday over 30 young adults are involved with The Salvation Army in Waldorf, coming together for a meal, good conversation, and to learn about the Bible.
The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church and our ministries are motivated by the love of God. To connect with your local Salvation Army church, visit www.salvationarmyusa.org

The Salvation Army Begins Work in Bulgaria
Tuesday Apr 20, 2021
Tuesday Apr 20, 2021
General Brian Peddle has announced that Bulgaria has become the 132nd country in which The Salvation Army is officially at work.
Although lockdown and other restrictions have made life far from easy, the new Salvation Army ministry is already beginning to have an influence. Partnerships have been started with local Christian fellowships, particularly Amazing Grace Church, which has linked The Salvation Army with a Roma settlement in a slum area on the outskirts of Sofia.
For Colonel Nielsen, a Norwegian officer, Salvation Army ministry starting in Bulgaria is literally a dream come true! Back in 2006, a Bulgarian flag was flown at a Salvation Army congress- believing in faith that one day soon, God would open doors to this country.
The General says: ‘I am delighted to welcome Bulgaria into the worldwide Salvation Army family. In these days of difficulty, it is fantastic to see God answer prayers made in faith so many years ago in creating this opportunity.”

New Hope- Tokyo Japan
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
The Salvation Army in Japan has launched a new community ministry in its recently-constructed New Hope building in Tokyo.
Opened on Christmas Eve 2020, the building was intentionally designed with floor-to-ceiling glass windows along the front so that members of the community could see what’s happening inside, sparking curiosity and conversations.
The Salvation Army recently hosted its first Paint Night event, with the goal of connecting people through innovative programming and creative expression.
‘The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to live our daily lives in a whole new way. We can’t live without person-to-person connection, but as we live this new life, many people are struggling having lost their connection with others. Through the work of New Hope building, we trust that it will be a source of comfort and connection, and a place for people seeking new encounters and inspiration.
